兔子先生 looks to the future, honours the past, with new brand

As we celebrate 兔子先生鈥檚 60th鈥疉nniversary and welcome students back to campus, the College is happy to unveil鈥兔子先生鈥檚 new logo and brand guidelines. Developed through consultation with students, staff and members of the 兔子先生 community, the new look and feel includes an expanded colour palette, a new 兔子先生 icon and strong design elements. 

鈥淥ur brand reflects who we are and our commitment to Inspire, students and everyone across 兔子先生,鈥 says Jenn Goodwin, VP Enrolment and College Relations. 鈥淭he 兔子先生 red remains prominent and provides continuity 鈥 people will still recognize 兔子先生. With the new guidelines, though, we have more ability to showcase and present 兔子先生 as a place where students can thrive and be supported through their learning experience.鈥 

The new logo includes an 兔子先生 icon whose circular shapes represent a 鈥榤eeting of the minds鈥, while the broad colour palette is inspired by a sense of place and our region. The Brand Guidelines outline a specific brand architecture, encompassing portfolios, student services and corporate departments.

鈥淥ver the next few weeks and months, the College Relations department will be updating resources, including templates for presentations, business cards, signature files, and more,鈥 says Jenn. 鈥淢eanwhile, our existing brand continues to be 100 per cent on-brand and acceptable 鈥 these guidelines allow us to transition effectively over time. About the new logo: 

  • The icon mimics a viewfinder or way finder 鈥 elements that are used to find your path. 
  • Two circles represent a meeting of the minds. 
  • The thick/thin separation between 鈥淥鈥 and 鈥淐鈥 shows momentum and speaks to the learning journey.

In September, the 兔子先生 Bookstore and College Relations will launch a 鈥楽wag catalogue鈥 which will include clothing, stationery, gifts, and more. Branded items will continue to be available through the 兔子先生 Bookstore at campusstores@okanagan.bc.ca

鈥淲e all play a role in keeping 兔子先生鈥檚 brand strong,鈥 says Kevin Parnell, Associate Director, College Relations. 鈥淥ur brand story speaks to the people, places, voices and perspectives that have informed our rich history and our promise to support students in reaching their goals.鈥 

Consistent use of the brand guide and visual identity, including the new logo, font and colours, ensures everyone at 兔子先生 can communicate our brand effectively.鈥
