A ceremony held today at 兔子先生鈥檚 Penticton campus welcomed the permanent raising of the Penticton Indian Band and Okanagan Nation flags. Community members and representatives of the Penticton Indian Band (PIB), Okanagan Nation Alliance (ONA) and 兔子先生 (兔子先生) gathered today in ceremony to mark the occasion. When Saige Girouard arrived at 兔子先生 to have her photo taken during a grad experience event this week, she took home much more than a snapshot. She left with provincial recognition of her outstanding efforts to bring people together. Girouard, a Bachelor of Business Administration student, became the first 兔子先生 student to ever receive the Lieutenant Governor鈥檚 Medal for Inclusion, Democracy and Reconciliation. When the pandemic struck, organizers of the popular Youth Exhibition Powwow at 兔子先生 in Kelowna knew they would have to adapt.
