Wireless at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú
eduroam (education roaming) is a wireless network service that provides students, staff, and faculty from Canadian educational institutions secure internet access.
The eduroam wireless network is our preferred service for mobile device users at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú.
New Students: don't forget to change your initial ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Network password before trying to connect to eduroam.
ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú students, staff and faculty can use the eduroam wireless network at any member institution using their ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú email address.

The password is the same one you use to log in to any ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú computer.
We recommend that you set up and test your computer at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú first to make sure that it works before travelling.
Since we cannot cover instructions for every operating system, the basic information you need to connect to the eduroam wireless network follows:
- Network/SSID: eduroam (lower case)
- Network Authentication Method: WPA2 (also sometimes called WPA2-PEAP, WPA2-RADIUS, or WPA2-Enterprise)
- Data Encryption Method: AES
- EAP Type: PEAP
- Authentication Protocol: MSCHAP-V2
For Android:
- CA certificate: Use system certificates
- Domain: radius.okanagan.bc.ca
- Identity: Student: FirstName.LastName@myokanagan.bc.ca - Staff: FirstInitialLastName@okanagan.bc.ca
- Anonymous identity: @okanagan.bc.ca
- Password: Your college password

Appropriate Use
eduroam users must abide by the Appropriate Use guidelines of both ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú and their home/visiting institution. Wherever the respective appropriate use policies conflict, the more restrictive rules will apply. eduroam wireless networks implement WPA2/AES. This ensures that the wireless portion of your connection is secure; however, you should still continue to use protocols that provide end-to-end encryption such as HTTPS and SSH.
Visitors wishing to connect to eduroam must acquire support from their home institution. Institutions hosting eduroam connectivity are not required to provide support to visiting guest users. ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú faculty, staff and students, please contact the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Help Desk for assistance.
